What is art
In the beginning of the semester, I came in with sort of a hardheaded thought about art and its components. Art had never really played a big factor or part in my life nor daily activities. After a couple class discussions, I understood the idea that art depended on the viewers thoughts and perspectives. Art was simply something that was made, weather by humans or by god. At the same time, I struggled to see art in things that were outside of what I believed art was.
As time continued and I continued to show up to class, I began to open my idea of art and its forms. I’ve always been mostly interested in street art and the cool platforms it can be presented and created on. Specifically, the recent reports I did on various artist and their art, has shown me that art is created in anyway. The viewer has to be open to the knowledge that art is in the object or picture. Art has in a way helped me open my views and thinking.
In the future I want to start off by becoming a lineman. A lineman works electricity polls and structures, an example would be SoCal Edison. Art was used to create the structures that electricity runs on. Although that’s where I want to reach and start my career, that’s not where I want to finish. In the future I also want to be a business owner and have a couple storefronts. I want one to be a clothing store that holds multiple brands, and I want to have another store that is a resell store. In both of these stores I can design the indoor and outdoor of the buildings, I can have different styles of art to attract attention of different styles of people. This would bring more attention to my stores and would give me more business. In addition, I feel a wide variety of art will make a more comfortable scene and feeling. Being able to open my thinking has showed me that there are many different ways and styles people can present themselves. I feel being able to understand different styles of art can help someone understand there are different styles of people and cultures. I enjoy seeing different colors and designs in one picture or object.
If art was to disappear, I feel like in a way would be boring. Art brings a lot of energy and style to our daily lives, energy and style that can be obtained anywhere else. I feel art and its nature gives everyone a sense of freedom. Anyone can be an artist, when you create art you can express yourself and your emotions. Art is also a way for everyone to in a way escape from their worries and relax, because when you’re creating art you don’t have to stress or think about anything else except the art. I agree a great nation deserves great art because of the value and style. In addition, the people that live by the art will enjoy seeing the art. I also feel the art will create a more welcoming feeling, especially if the area is diverse, like long beach or LA. This could possibly make the residents more open and interactive.
